Bronx, Nueva York: El Departamento de Policía de Nueva York (NYPD) describió la asistencia al 35 aniversario de La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx, celebrado el 28 de julio de 2024, como un auténtico “mar de espectadores”. El líder comunitario, fundador y director ejecutivo de la organización sin fines de lucro La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx, Felipe Febles, elogió el trabajo del NYPD, liderado por el comisionado Edward Caban, y su equipo encabezado por Assistant Chief Benjamin Gurley, Commanding Officer of the Bronx – 48th Precinct, junto con su equipo, incluyendo a Anthony J. Mascia, Commanding Officer, y Nancy Ramos, Detective Officer en otros.
Felipe Febles calificó de excelente el trabajo realizado por los oficiales, destacando su papel crucial en garantizar la seguridad del evento. En un mensaje publicado en las redes sociales X e Instagram, el NYPD informó: “¡Hoy fue una celebración vibrante de la tradición dominicana en el Desfile Anual del Día Dominicano en el Bronx! En medio del mar de espectadores estaban sus dedicados policías, que estaban a lo largo de la ruta del desfile, garantizando la seguridad de todos”.
Febles expresó su gratitud hacia el NYPD y en especial a los precintos del Bronx, afirmando: “Hicieron un excelente trabajo y estamos muy agradecidos. Su integración a nuestra parada para la seguridad y el orden garantizó el éxito de la misma. Este año, en la celebración del 35 aniversario, hicimos récord de asistencia en Grand Concourse y eso nos llena de orgullo, sobre todo sabiendo que la actividad estaba bajo la seguridad del NYPD. Gracias a todos, ustedes también son parte de La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx”.
La comunidad dominicana se volcó masivamente, con banderas en mano, para respaldar este evento que se ha convertido en un símbolo de identidad y cohesión. Felipe Febles logró hacer historia con una asistencia de más de 800 mil personas, además de aquellos que siguieron el evento a través de los medios de comunicación tradicionales y plataformas digitales.
El desfile contó con una impresionante variedad de carrozas, diablos cojuelos, artistas, influencers, batton ballet, y grupos culturales, deportivos, religiosos, políticos, líderes electos y comunitarios. Este evento no solo celebra la cultura dominicana, sino que también fortalece los lazos comunitarios, destacando la riqueza y diversidad de la comunidad.
La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx es un evento anual que resalta la rica herencia cultural y las raíces de la comunidad dominicana en Nueva York. Durante este desfile, se exhiben con orgullo los símbolos patrios, la música, los bailes típicos y las tradiciones de la República Dominicana, uniendo a diversos sectores de la comunidad, incluidos artistas, líderes comunitarios, políticos, y grupos culturales y religiosos.
NYPD Calls Attendance at 35th Anniversary of La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx a “Sea of Spectators”

Bronx, New York: The New York Police Department (NYPD) described attendance at the 35th anniversary of La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx, held on July 28, 2024, as a true “sea of spectators.” Community leader, founder and executive director of the nonprofit La Gran Parada Dominicana del Bronx, Felipe Febles, praised the work of the NYPD, led by Commissioner Edward Caban, and his team headed by Assistant Chief Benjamin Gurley, Commanding Officer of the Bronx – 48th Precinct, along with his team, including Anthony J. Mascia, Commanding Officer, and Nancy Ramos, Detective Officer among others.
Felipe Febles described the work done by the officers as excellent, highlighting their crucial role in ensuring the safety of the event. In a message posted on social media X and Instagram, the NYPD reported: “Today was a vibrant celebration of Dominican tradition at the Annual Dominican Day Parade in the Bronx! Amidst the sea of spectators were your dedicated police officers, who were along the parade route, ensuring the safety of everyone.”
Febles expressed his gratitude to the NYPD and especially to the Bronx precincts, stating: “They did an excellent job and we are very grateful. Their integration into our parade for security and order guaranteed its success. This year, at the 35th anniversary celebration, we had a record attendance at the Grand Concourse and that fills us with pride, especially knowing that the activity was under the security of the NYPD. Thank you all, you are also part of The Great Dominican Parade of the Bronx.”
The Dominican community turned out massively, with flags in hand, to support this event that has become a symbol of identity and cohesion. Felipe Febles managed to make history with an attendance of more than 800 thousand people, in addition to those who followed the event through traditional media and digital platforms.
The parade featured an impressive variety of floats, Diablos Cojuelos, artists, influencers, batton ballet, and cultural, sports, religious, political, elected and community groups. This event not only celebrates Dominican culture, but also strengthens community ties, highlighting the richness and diversity of the community.
The Great Dominican Parade of the Bronx is an annual event that highlights the rich cultural heritage and roots of the Dominican community in New York.
